Believe it or not, our St. Anthony community exists beyond the walls of the church building at Ironwood and Jefferson, and strengthening our community means being a part of it; it means encountering those in it on the days between Sundays.
We want to help you do this by connecting you with those St. Anthony parishioners and families who live near you. As disciples of Christ, we are called to follow Jesus’s commandments: “And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Mt 22:37-39)
Welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. (Rom 15:7)
We love God through loving our neighbors, and to encourage a spirit of welcoming here we’ve created neighborhood groups in the myParish app to help you connect with yours.
There, you can start a discussion to introduce yourself, ask a question, ask for help if you need it or let your neighbors know if someone else needs assistance. You can ask for recommendations, share good news, and make plans with your St. Anthony neighbors. If someone is sick, your group can coordinate meal drop offs. If someone is stuck in their driveway in the winter, you can send a teen out to shovel. If someone is lonely, you can pay a visit. If you’re looking for a walking buddy, you can text the group. The possibilities for community and fellowship are endless!
