The 40 days of Lent begin on Ash Wednesday and end with the start of the Triduum on Holy Thursday. The entire Lenten Season is devoted to preparing for the joyful celebration of Jesus's Resurrection on Easter. We prepare through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving–by sharing in opportunities to draw deeper into our faith and our trust in the Lord. We, as individuals and as a community, seek to walk alongside Jesus in the desert and accompany him to Calvary.
We invite you to enter into this holy season with your heart open to contemplate Jesus's suffering and death on the Cross so that it may be filled with joyful hope upon the Resurrection of our Lord at Easter. Here's how:
The entire Lenten Season is a journey devoted to preparing for the great celebration of the Paschal Mystery at Easter. We walk alongside Jesus on this journey in our prayer, fasting & almsgiving.
As a parish we will pray and give alms together through a second collection each Sunday of Lent to assist local charities and groups who are committed to the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. Learn more about these organizations, pray for them, fast for them, and give generously.
Our Organizations
Triduum begins on Holy Thursday as we observe the solemn days of the Lord's suffering, death, and descent. Join us for the Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7:00pm on Holy Thursday. Adoration will follow with Confession available from 8:30-10:00 pm.
The Triduum continues on Good Friday, a day of prayer and fasting. Join us for The Lord's Passion at 12:30 pm followed by Confession from 1:30-3:00 pm.
Tenebrae is a unique and powerful liturgy. Through darkness, sound, scripture, and prayer, Tenebrae uses our senses to take us through Jesus' death on the cross to his burial in the tomb. Tenebrae will begin at 8:30pm and end in darkness and silence.
The Easter Vigil will begin at 8:45pm on the main steps of the church. On this holy night, the Church keeps watch, celebrating the resurrection of Christ in the sacraments and awaiting his return in glory.
