For the Ostric and Greer families, being part of St. Anthony’s Parish reaches back over 50 years. From the beginning of her long association as a parishioner, Ann Greer began volunteering at school back when her children attended, and three of her four children graduated from St. Anthony’s School. Ann subsequently served as school secretary, manning the office for more than 30 years.
At St. Anthony’s Larry and Ann Ostric Greer celebrated their marriage and the baptism of all three of their children. Now into their 30s, Cassie, Lauren (Tom) and Peter all attended St.Anthony’s School. Grandson Fynn anchors the next generation and is a light in all their lives.
Having served the Federal Court for nearly his entire legal career, Larry currently works with the Bankruptcy Court. Ann began her teaching career at St. Anthony School and returned in the years between graduate school and babies. She has very recently retired from teaching at neighboring Trinity School at Greenlawn.
We hold many especially fond memories of pastor Father Bob Yast, “Chief;” especially we recall his preparing Larry and Ann for marriage with his signature holiness and humor. We have derived joy abiding as members of St. Anthony’s Parish under the guidance of the several other pastors since. It has been a blessing to witness parish growth, especially this year!
We love that St. Anthony’s is our neighborhood parish and that it has played a major role in shepherding us through our various stages in life, through thick and thin, and facilitated our deepening encounter with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
